October Rewind: Scotlynn's Impact in Pink

Honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Deepening Community Engagement and Raising Impactful Funds

FORT MYERS, Fla. – At Scotlynn, October was a month filled with purpose and impact. From fundraising and education to youth outreach and community support, Scotlynn is proud to participate in initiatives that create lasting, positive impact on the community. Throughout the month, the company focused on raising awareness, supporting research and showing up for important causes.

Each year Scotlynn partners with City Furniture to support its Pink Pumpkin initiative, which promotes breast cancer awareness and charitable giving throughout the state of Florida. The partnership reflects a shared mission to uplift those impacted by the disease and to invest in solutions through education, outreach and support.  As part of this initiative, employees wore pink on Wednesday, October 15th, in a show of unity, support and hope. Visitors and staff at the Fort Myers office had the opportunity throughout the month to stop by the Scotlynn Social Club and view the Pink Pumpkin awareness table, which featured breast cancer facts and educational resources. A custom hand-painted pink pumpkin by local artist Luis Valle was displayed as the centerpiece, serving as a tribute to strength, creativity, and the community’s commitment to the cause.

Additionally, all funds raised through Scotlynn’s internal Casual for a Cause program, (employees can wear casual attire on designated days in exchange for charitable donations), along with proceeds from the October golf scramble event, will be donated to breast cancer research and support organizations. Collectively, Scotlynn raised $3,200 in support of breast cancer research and assistance organizations, including the American Cancer Society.

Scotlynn also continued its community engagement through an annual Trunk or Treat event for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast. Employees participated by decorating car trunks, handing out candy and creating a fun, safe Halloween experience for children in the program. The event highlighted the company’s commitment to giving back and supporting youth mentorship.

Furthering its commitment to meaningful causes, Scotlynn also served as a sponsor and participant in the Walk for Wishes Southwest Florida fundraiser, benefiting the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The event helps grant life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, and Scotlynn’s involvement demonstrates its dedication to hope, strength and community-driven impact.
