Insights That Drive UsBuzzing for a Cause: Scotlynn Team Members Support the Fight Against Childhood Cancer
At Scotlynn, giving back to our communities is an important part of who we are. Recently, our team partnered with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation in support of childhood cancer research, helping raise funds and awareness for this important cause.
Held during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, the event was an opportunity to rally behind children and families affected by cancer while supporting vital research efforts. Scotlynn team members volunteered for a seat in the barber’s chair, shaving their heads and raising more than $6,000 for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. These funds will help support research aimed at improving treatments and outcomes for children diagnosed with cancer.

Stronger Together
The journey began in 2025 when employees volunteered to shave their heads at a St. Baldrick’s fundraising event hosted at Hertz Arena with the Florida Everblades. Inspired by that experience, Scotlynn organized its own fundraiser and invited the Everblades to our Fort Myers office. The day brought plenty of memorable moments, including a visit from the Everblades mascot, Swampee, and the appearance of the Kelly Cup. What started as a single event quickly became an annual tradition dedicated to supporting childhood cancer research.
While fundraising was at the heart of the event, some team members chose a particularly visible way to show their support.
For children facing cancer, losing their hair can be a visible reminder that life has changed in ways most kids never have to imagine. To stand alongside them, 13 Scotlynn team members across three offices volunteered to shave their heads, turning a simple gesture into a powerful symbol of solidarity.
From those who volunteered to shave their heads to the donors, supporters, and advocates who helped make the event possible, every contribution played a meaningful role. We’re proud to be part of an event that continues to bring people together, spark conversations, and support a cause that impacts so many lives.
