Scotlynn employees come together with their employer to help Habitat for Humanity Brant’s first Build project in Simcoe!
Employees from Scotlynn Commodities will be the very first company to launch an Employee Giving Campaign called Scotlynn Cares. The campaign complements the funds already committed by the company earlier this year. Scott Biddle and his senior management team decided to help Habitat Brant with its first home building project in Simcoe by donating $5000 and inviting a group of employees to participate as an Adopt a Day corporate team day later this summer. The campaign offers employees the opportunity to share the donation challenge with family and friends and creates a true team effort in helping Habitat build and sell homes to low income earning families. A team of Scotlynn employees will have the opportunity to help build the home located on 95 Patterson Ave by spending a day on the build site alongside the selected partner family; Amanda Ellah.
Habitat Brant’s long term strategic plan is to build more homes per year in Simcoe and has received a warm welcome from business, government and community organizations. The Scotlynn Commodities team donation is essentially making an impact on Habitat’s ability to build affordable housing in Norfolk County. There are so many ways other corporations can help, such as organizing a barbeque lunch and donating the proceeds to the build project, or allowing employees to take a day off work to help build the home.
Habitat is very excited to work with the Scotlynn group on this first Simcoe project and look forward to exploring partnerships with other local companies.
